Augustine Colebrook, CPM, LM

Augustine has a life-long passion for serving women and children. After attending her first homebirth at eight years of age with her midwife aunt in Colorado, she knew her life’s path. Blessed with innate gifts of compassion and empathy, Augustine adores her work with new families. Her personal experience of preparing for, laboring and birthing at home unassisted, influences her work as a midwife and she respects a woman’s need for the empowering feeling of being undisturbed during labor. Having attended births for more than 14 years, Augustine’s focus is finely attuned to the process of letting go and opening to the unknown in labor and in life. It is her profound joy to illuminate this sacred journey for other women. An apprentice-trained midwife, she has worked as a midwife and studied in different cultural environments and countries, including a rural Jamaican hospital, a birth center in Denmark, dirt floor huts in Mexico, and many homes in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, South Carolina, Florida and Oregon. Augustine is a Nationally Certified Professional Midwife and an Oregon State Licensed Midwife serving all of Southern Oregon. Augustine is also an accomplished management executive with strong entrepreneurial heart, who takes much joy in mainstreaming midwifery and the midwifery model of care by bringing the modern community-centered birth center choice to all low risk women.
